Is it just me or are concept cars getting really ugly?

pretty shit visibility for a rally car. Do any car designers actually drive anymore?

Yes. On tracks, too.

very debatable.

It just seems to me that the windshield doesn’t need to be that sloped on a rally car, and those a-pillars are just massive. To say nothing of rear visibility (I get it, it’s a race, you don’t need to see the losers behind you, right?) Overall, it looks cool, but doesn’t look functionally good for a rally car, from what you can tell by a picture. Also, are low profile tires normal these days on WRC cars?

which part?

shit visibility.

those a-pillars though! Theres no way they aren’t massively in the way. With how wide they are, and how shallow of an angle they are on, they have to take up a ton of space visually.

i see your point looking at it now.

Just for whatever, it looks like a 5th scale model. So at that point its just theme development. Its a styling study, not meant to be real yet.

There’s no way you could see though a corner, I have a hard enough time with my Honda Fit an it’s A pillars aren’t that bad.
Also you mentioned the tires, if you’re going to design a rally car from scratch it should start with 15" wheels, and 205/70/ tires.

15" wheels if it’s set up for gravel. They run larger wheels at the tarmac events
